As part of ongoing infrastructure improvements at Harwich International Port, Herbosch-Kiere Marine Contractors Ltd carried out the supply and installation of new mooring facilities.
The scope of the contract included the supply and installation of a 95-tonne mooring pile measuring 42 metres in length, 2.5 metres in diameter, and 36 millimetres in wall thickness. Following installation, the pile was allowed to settle before Herbosch-Kiere Marine Contractors Ltd returned to site to complete the works.
The final phase of the project involved the installation of a new access platform and a 200-tonne bollard mounted onto the newly installed pile, providing a robust and durable mooring solution for vessels operating within the port.
