Herbosch-Kiere Marine Contractors and Newhaven Port & Properties Ltd were proud to join Mark Wardle, Mayor of Newhaven, alongside pupils, teachers and staff from Harbour Primary School, for the unveiling of a special Anchor Bench created through a unique community partnership.
The bench was gifted to the school following the completion of a design competition launched as part of the social value programme delivered during the construction of Newhaven Port’s new Fishing Landing Stage. Pupils were invited to design a bench inspired by the project, with the winning concept transformed into reality.
The bench was expertly crafted by residents at HMP Lewes, whose skill and dedication brought the winning design to life. We would like to thank everyone involved, including Harbour Primary School, its pupils and staff, and the team at HMP Lewes for making this project such a success.
This initiative demonstrates the lasting value that can be created when businesses, education providers and community organisations work together.
At Herbosch-Kiere, we are committed to delivering more than infrastructure projects. Through collaboration with our clients and local partners, we strive to leave a positive and lasting impact in the communities where we work.
